The long anticipated treck across the Mountain to Gisborne was on us once again. This time to defend the coverted Jolly Roger Trophy, so convincingly won by Camberwell Petanque Club last year.

As always, such a warm welcome from the Macedon Team and this year with a present of vast proportions. Two of the pistes had been specially prepared for the days event by the importation of old mullock heaps with the included quarry rocks spread as unevenly as it could possibly be. A challenge to the greatest, from both teams.

Play started in doubtful weather which soon  turned sunny and fine and remained for most of the day. After everyone settled in on the first game competition began in earnest. At the halfway point Macedon had won 8 games with a delta of just minus one. CPC had won 8 games with a Delta of just plus one.

Lunch, which was provided by Macedon was of 5 star  quality. The usual standard that has been to the enjoyment from the inception of this competition.

The final outcome of the competition was Victory to Mount Macedon. The trophy being handed over with the invitation for Macedon to Defend it at Camberwell next year.

A brilliant days competition and socialization all around. Wayne received the award for best player from CPC and Damien Received the eighth (?)  player award.
