What a day!  Forty four players registered for the first game. some dressed to impress, others dressed for the weather. And  what weather it was. The heat brought the player numbers down as we wore on through the day.

It is always interesting to throw a little sparkling wine into the mix before play. Amazing the difference in Caliber and style that comes out.

Mr Prez really got the day started off well. With those funny fingers of his ( The Craw ! Not the Craw !) on the keyboard, he managed to convert the games to all triples. However, fortunately Paul came to the rescue and used his magic to the resurrect the program. This did cause a slight delay. Just enough time for another tipple of sparkling.

The Playing area looked superb. The umbrellas on the west now permantly fitted gave excellent relief from the sun. Wayne, in his unstoppable way, managed to erect another two umbrellas on the Eastern Side.

First game, then lunch, Game 2 Then the running of the Melbourne Cup on our big screen TV. With first 3 placings as well as last in 2 sweeps, at least 8 people enjoyed the race. But everyone enjoyed the sticky date /choc pudding. Whoo hoo!

Final scores were in and the winners were: Evelyn, Barbi, Antoine, Keven, Rosie and Vinze.

The highest scorer and winner of The CPC Cup (no expense spared) was Antione.
