Join us for a festive dinner on Saturday 27July. You will be welcomed with a glass of mulled wine or bubbles and charcuterie boards to start.
This will be followed by a buffet of delicious Christmas fare including roasted turkey, ham, lamb and let’s not forget the roasted vegies. Vegetarians will be catered for too .
We’ll finish off the evening with a selection of desserts. $30 per person.BYO tipple.
We need to confirm numbers for the caterers early, RSVP by 8 July of reserve your place.
If you play regularly, please sign up to become an opener. There haven’t been enough volunteers for some time. Now that we have recently lost three openers, there aren’t enough people to cover every session.
To be fair to the existing volunteers, the committee has agreed that openers will not be rostered more than once a month in the future. Consequently, if there is no opener for a session we will send an SMS advising that there will be not be organised play on that date.
Our goal is to have enough volunteers to enable us to roster openers once every 6 weeks. Currently we are way off that. Please help us make this happen - become an opener. You will get lots of support, you’ll get training (especially for Saturdays) and you know you’ll be doing something really worthwhile for our club.
Due to the cold weather conditions, we will be shortening Friday night session to 2 games only. The opener will facilitate the first 2 sessions. Players wishing to stay for dinner and another game are welcome to remain, however they will be responsible for cleaning up and locking up. Rest assured we will revert back to our popular 3 game and dinner format in September,
Friday cards are still our winter remedy
When it’s too cold and wet outside, come and play cards on the last Friday of every month from 3pm. Have fun, learn how to play - our games masters Leigh, Pam or Deidre are happy to show you how. As usual, petanque play begins at 5.30 or you can play cards throughout the evening as you wish. The next session is on Friday 27 July.
Ahoy it’s the Jolly Roger
Please let us know if you would like to participate in this friendly doubles competition on Saturday 24 August at Gisborne.

Places are limited, participation, is on a first come first served basis. You’ll be sent all details when you sign up.
